Stokes State Forest Hike

This was a hike I took on 3/24/06, from about noon to 8:30 PM. There are three maps available here, a photo map, which ties GPS points with photos I took on the hike, a geology map which shows the hike in the context of the bedrock geology of the area, and a land use / land cover map that shows the hike in the context of the vegetation and land uses of the area. Of these, the photo map and the geology map load fairly quickly. The land use map is slow to load, but it's interesting to see the many habitat types in the area. The geology and land use maps require Java installed on your computer, and firewall settings that allow active content.

Resouces used to construct the base maps on which the GPS points are superimposed are available from State of New Jersey web sites:

The maps were produced with JShape software: http://www.jshape.com
